The Basic Training course introduces the Autism Diagnostic Observation System, Second Edition (ADOS-2) in a two-day online course. The training focuses on Modules 1-4, as well as the Toddler Module. Attendance at both sessions is required for certification.
What is the ADOS-2?
The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd Edition (ADOS-2) is a semi-structured, standardised assessment for autism, seen as the gold standard for observational assessment. This test is typically used as part of the Assessment of Need (AON).
Participants of the training will:

Obtain a good understanding of the ADOS and the use of the ADOS to assess and diagnose ASD.

Take part in video observation and discussion of various applications of the modules of the ADOS with different age groups.

Gain practical experience in the scoring of the ADOS.

Learn from an experienced group of peers.

Gain confidence as they begin to use the ADOS in a clinical or research setting.

This two-day training course will be delivered by Dr Tiago Pinto. Dr Pinto is an experienced Clinical Psychologist, registered in the UK, with over two decades of experience in the field. His expertise lies deeply in refining diagnostic clarity and tailoring interventions for individuals with autism. He has been recognised as a certified trainer in ADOS-2 and ADI-R since 2015, delivering specialised training to a wide range of professionals internationally. His academic work is widely published in both scientific and mainstream journals, aiming to enhance public understanding of the autism spectrum.
